Classic, Outlaw Waylon…..

Published by stojak at 2:42 pm under Classic, Outlaw Country............. Edit This

If I am three sheets to the wind and sitting on a bar stool, trying to forget about that woman who stole my heart, I’m drinking with Waylon.  A true maverick of his kind, and one of my all time favorites.  No one made forgetting your woman easier than this classic, outlaw artist.  The bottle might let you down but Mr. Jennings wont.

I used to listen to my Daddy’s Waylon 8-Tracks on my General Electric “LoudMouth” AM/FM 8-Track portable player. And if that ain’t country you can kiss my ass.

Waylon played Lollapalooza and once opened for Metallica. He also narrated “The Dukes of Hazard.” He gets a free pass of cool for all eternity.

Also dig Waylon and Jessie’s son Shooter Jennings. He has some cool stuff. Also there is Hank Williams III. He does both traditional country and thrash metal. He is shoot or miss. A bit too endrenched into the whole self-destruction, die young bullshit lie of a legacy to really grow as songwriter, but that is simply my opinion. But when he is good he is GOOD.

Also, Elvis Costello does a neat cover of this song. Yes, Elvis Costello…I do not lie.
